A leader in making Arizona an educationally-drive, technologically-enhanced state, ALTP maintains, updates and regularly reports on the statewide plan for learning technology; revisiting it regularly and keeping the vision alive and in front of stakeholders and the public.

ALTP continuously advocates for funding, policy and attitudes favorable to learning technology. We educate state legislators, policy makers, and the public on the positive impact of education and technology for Arizona. In addition to influencing at the state level, ALTP has a national presence and takes advantage of national advocates and policy makers.


ALTP is Arizona's learning technology Communication Central. Our web presence is second to none, with a wealth of easy-to-access information, education, tools, connections and interactivity. Also, we regularly hold symposiums and forums for the discussion, presentation and research of learning technology policy, practice and tools. ALTP hosts an international meeting of innovation drivers for technology in education. In addition to digital and group forums, ALTP works one-on-one with educators, policy makers, administrators and business leaders to inform, guide and influence.


ALTP is an organization that brings people and groups together. Maintaining a balance of education, business and government sectors, we encompass many different organizations and groups; with people from these groups actively and passionately involved. ALTP is a proactive, highly-visible and strongly networked organization with an excellent reputation. Because of this, we enjoy the strong support of our stakeholders and the public and are able to tap experts and influential leaders to get things done.


ALTP is a flexible, responsive, customer-driven organization. We are guided and supported by a Board of Advisors and Board of Directors who bring expertise, leadership, influence, participation and resources to the organization. ALTP has staff and volunteers throughout Arizona, using the latest in collaborative communication and learning technologies to organize and run meetings, planning and networking sessions. As our name indicates, ALTP staff and volunteers are passionate about Arizona, learning technology and partnerships. We keep Arizona in the lead on learning technology issues and the adoption of advanced learning technologies.



Programs

Statewide Plan

With the help of its partners and stakeholders across the state, ALTP is developing a vision and plan to guide, monitor and support Arizona schools in the adoption of technology.

Public Policy (Education Technology Funding Legislation: HB 2490)
For the last two years, ALTP has championed legislation to fund to technology for K-12 students. ALTP will continue to lead the way in shaping public policy in support of technology in education.

Public Forums
ALTP conducts forums and symposiums regularly, to: 1) to educate stakeholders about the promise of learning technology and the Arizona Plan for Technology in Education, 2) to gather input and promote formal and informal stakeholder partnerships to mold public opinion and policy.

ALTP Communication Central

ALTP is building a web site, information structures and support systems which will provide a wealth of easy-to-access information, education, planning tools, and connections for our stakeholders and their efforts to plan for and implement advanced education technologies.

Emerging Learning Technology
ALTP is currently looking into the its role in fostering best approaches to accelerating the adoption of technology into Arizona learning environments.

ALTP 2000 Strategic Plan

The leadership of ALTP is re-assessing ALTP’s role and structure and refining the vision for ALTP's future in service to Arizona education.  Current plans are to complete this plan and major goals during the summer of 1998.
